We'll be talking about:
The power of holding a gun in your hand is the power to end lives and Americans don’t take the subject lightly. The education in gun laws is always hot. We see politicians looking to steal headlines in the name of “gun control” so we must stay informed. Freedom ain’t easy. Being safe requires being thorough. Each state is a government and each county’s law enforcement carries out the implementation of these laws, and in the process, a gun owner becomes an educated citizen. In this article we hope to quickly touch on a few topics for beginner gun owners regarding laws but you should never stop learning. Good gun owners realize the importance of doing things correctly. That entails understanding gun laws and staying up to date on state and federal laws. Concealed carry laws differ from state to state and some treat you as if you were in your own state. This is reciprocity. You’ll want to understand reciprocity laws when crossing state lines. Understanding is necessary concerning the concealed carry differences between states. Nevada is a "shall issue" state for concealed carry. As long as Nevada residents check out well in background checks, they get the license to carry their guns in a concealed manner. In Nevada, no permit is required for open carry. Other states are different. Universal background checks started In November 2016 when Nevada voters approved Ballot Question 1. This made background checks required for person-to-person gun sales, which are private gun sales made in Nevada by people “ not engaged in the business" of selling firearms to sell firearms, no license needed. This was called the“gun show loophole”. It is no more in Nevada. January 2020 the laws go into effect for universal background checks, however Nevada counties are fighting the new law with their sherifs declaring themselves “second amendment sanctuary counties”. They are refusing to back up this law which at least one congressman has called “unenforceable”. Second Amendment sanctuaries have become a national movement. Counties and jurisdictions are standing up to refuse to comply with state laws that overstep boundaries like privacy. Sheriffs are saying no. the movement began in Effingham Country, Illinois 2018 in response to the governor’s new legislation there. The crosswinds of change came, boom. Gun laws involve how we carry our weapons. Don’t be careless when taking your gun out because brandishing has become like a solemn ceremony with each movement scrutinized. You should know how your state and city regard brandishing and printing laws because if your gun is exposed too much, that can determine your fate. You can show your gun off if it’s educational but if you’re rude about it, if a threat is perceived, this is brandishing and it’s no bueno. Printing is the visibility of your gun through your clothes. It can’t show too much but generally, you’re ok if you have it covered. Come in and ask us anything. Comments are closed.
